Everything about our work with Johnston Health in Smithfield, North Carolina speaks to adaptability, from the location of their Clayton facility to the master plan itself. This HUD-242 financed project started with an outpatient facility based on a chassis-like plan, with core elements like the kitchen, location of mechanical rooms, corridors for future connection and perimeter drives, designed to accommodate future room additions. Phase 2 of the plan, a 55,000 square-foot, 50-bed patient tower, fits seamlessly within the master plan. Despite the dramatic scale of the expansion, critical relationships between the departments are maintained, and the campus functions as a cohesive whole.

  • We've been working with the great folks at Johnston Health for nearly two decades, both in Smithfield and Clayton. In fact we've worked with them so long we are now replacing the original ER we designed back in the 90's and soon we will be renovating the original women's center.
